How to Measure Your Breast Weight

12月に入り、冬らしい寒さを感じるようになりましたね。

今日は、前回お話していた自分の胸の重さを計る方法をご紹介したいと思います。
これが分かると何がよいのでしょうか？
乳房パッドを選ぶ目安になるからです。

何度かコラムでもお伝えしていますが、乳房切除後に身体のバランスを整えることを忘れずに乳房パッドを選んで頂きたいです。
様々な乳房パッドが市販されていますので、ご自身の胸の重さが分かれば一つの目安として選ぶことができます。

では、早速確認していきましょう。

準備するもの

• 計量カップ
• 胸が入るサイズの桶やバケツ
• 桶が入るサイズのビニール袋

測定方法

1. ビニール袋に桶を入れます
   
2. 桶に溢れないようにぎりぎりまでぬるま湯を入れます
   
3. 乳房をゆっくりとお湯に入れます
   
4. あふれたお湯の量を計ります
   

水は体積と重量が同じなので、1カップ200 cc(ml)＝200gです。

水の重さは脂肪の重さとほぼ同じなので、この方法で自分の胸のおよその重さを知ることができます。

お風呂に入るときに試してみてくださいね。

Why is knowing your breast weight important?
It serves as a helpful reference when selecting a breast form.

As we’ve mentioned in previous articles, choosing a breast form that helps balance your body after a mastectomy is essential. Many types of breast forms are available on the market, and knowing your breast weight can guide you in making a more informed choice.

Let’s dive into the steps!

What You’ll Need:

• A measuring cup
• A basin large enough to fit your breast
• A plastic bag large enough to hold the basin

How to Measure:

1. Place the basin inside the plastic bag.
2. Fill the basin with warm water, almost to the brim, but be careful not to let it overflow.
3. Gently submerge your breast into the water.
4. Measure the amount of water that overflows using the measuring cup.

Since water has the same weight as its volume, 200 cc (ml) equals 200 grams.
This method gives you an approximate weight of your breast, as the density of water closely matches that of fat.

Try this method next time you’re taking a bath!
